About Me
Dr. Elizabeth Adetiba is a critical scholar, writer, and self-proclaimed truthteller based in the Northeast U.S. Trained as a sociologist, Dr. Adetiba studies the impact of anti-Black sentiment in biomedical scholarship, with a particular focus on the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Her research career extends from the U.S., to South Africa, to New Zealand, where she was a U.S. Fulbright Fellow.
Prior to becoming an academic, Dr. Adetiba worked as a journalist and fact-checker, with her work on police violence, gender violence, and criminal justice featured in HuffPost, Slate, The Nation, and The Black Youth Project.
